In November, Deborah Nicholson, our highly experienced Associate Solicitor who has been helping local families for over 30 years, attended Invicta Grammar School. She was there to support our local community by meeting students who had applied to Oxford and Cambridge to study law.
The school had requested for Deborah to attend and give the students some advice regarding interviews and the questions that they could be asked during the application process. There were 10 students that were seeking advice and she had 5 sessions lasting about half an hour with two students in each session.
Deborah asked them some sample interview questions and then discussed how to answer them making sure that the students felt confident. Her main piece of advice was to come prepared. She helped students plan their answers, adding that preparation helps professionalism.
Deborah explained that she thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt that passing on her knowledge was useful to the students. We look forward to seeing how we can support our community in the future and welcome requests from neighbouring schools, charities and community groups.
